CL Gaber

Why are you THE Next Favorite Author?
In ASCENDERS, I combine fantasy, action with an epic love story. Plus, there’s time travel!
What makes your book stand out from the crowd? ASCENDERS (Book 1 and 2) is a love story on two levels…between Daniel and Walker …and Walker and her mother. As a journalist, I like to use facts to inform my story. Ascenders was born from the fact that the human brain doesn’t fully form until you’re 24 years old. It begs the question: Where would you go if you died young. Walker goes to a realm that looks like the UP of Michigan, but it’s actually an afterlife of no rules. You can’t get hurt. You can’t die twice. Falling in love is the most dangerous thing you can do because no one is sure how long they will remain in this realm. Walker and Daniel also break the one cardinal rule which is you can not return to your former life in ghost form. To go back to the original question, I think the book stands out because it’s epic love with fast adventure combined with facts that make you think. Plus, Daniel has been called “better than chocolate cake.” He’s that tat covered rebel.
Give an about the Author Blurb As a journalist, I’ve spent the last few decades writing about movie stars for the New York Times wire. On the night before I interviewed Cher, I had a dream that played out like a movie in my mind. That dream became Ascenders.
Ascenders has morphed into ASCENDERS: SKYPUNCH (Book 2) and then there’s ASCENDERS: OMORROW (Book 3) out this spring.
Ascenders is being developed into a TV show and comic book.
