Bryan Caron

About the Author: Bryan Caron

120 Characters or less (Think Twitter): Why are you THE Next Favorite Author?
Unique twists to both fresh ideas and myths surround relateable characters and captivate the visual cortex of your brain.

What do you enjoy most about writing?
Writing for me is the greatest escape I can offer both myself and others without ever having to leave the comfort of my living room (or office, or bedroom) unless I really want to. Creating new worlds, new characters, new friends is so fascinating, fun and fulfilling. With all of the danger and fear and hate and bigotry and bullying around the world, books (as well as film) offer people a few hours of absorbing themselves into another world, opening their imaginations and capturing their dreams and desires. Even the worst writing can still motivate people to do things they normally wouldn’t do, urge them to live life a different way, or compel them to seek out that one little thing that’s missing. Writing can inspire you, make you laugh, make you cry and make you think. If just one person came up to me and said that my work inspired them to do something great, all of the hard work I put into writing the book would be worth it.

Terry Taylor Hobbs

About the Author: Terry Taylor Hobbs

If you like a good yarn in the sci-fi realm that’s really all about the characters, with some twists and some humor thrown in for good measure...then I may just be your next favorite author!

What do I enjoy most about writing? When you read a good book and it transports you; when you look up from the text and realize, ’oh, it’s not raining, that was just the book’, or when you heart leaps in fear, or you cry for a lost book character... That’s freakin’ wizardry. Writing can take you on a journey, and to be occasionally allowed to be the one to lead the way, well, what could be better than that?

Author Blurb:

I am a writer living in Colorado. I'm totally smitten with becoming a better writer and all the fun mistake-making you get to do along the way.

I lean towards reading, painting, and just making stuff in general. I especially like to start projects and leave them 80% finished. Beginnings are the best.

I have played a ridiculous amount of Left 4 Dead which makes me think I'm a zombie expert. In a real zombie apocalypse, I'd be out in the first 30 minutes. I'm super slow. I forgive you for running ahead.

Zombie Tetherball was my first book, followed shortly after by Healed, a sci-fi novella about being broken and put back together, and oh yeah, nanobots. Couple more in the works. I have a sign-up list on my website if you’d like to get occasional updates.

Writing Prompt

Think about this...
When did innocence become synonymous with child-like. Does a character have to be childish to be innocent? Does childhood denote pure innocence?
Write a story around this concept or incorporate this concept into one of your current WIP.
Post the result in the comments.

Merri Halma

About the Author

1.      When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I first wanted to be a writer when I was eleven or twelve. I had a        speech impediment mixed with a need to express myself and an active imagination. Writing gave way to control my life and power to speak of emotions I couldn’t verbally express. I loved losing myself in the worlds I created and often wished I could live those lives instead.

2.       What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I meditate as a write, asking Spirit assist me to assist me to create a story others would love. I also talk with my characters and ask them show me what exactly they want me to write about them.

3.      What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I like to go to movies, go for walks and I love to read.

I also enjoy watching the birds and squirrels play around.

4.     What makes your book stand out from the crowd?

I have been I have a unique voice. I combine myths, folklore and some psychological elements to delve deep inside the characters. I strive to answer the question “What makes me tick? Why was I created this way?”

5.     What do you enjoy most about writing?

I enjoy getting lost in the world, daydreaming and imagining what it would be like to be inside someone’s skin. It helps me to understand others. To see their demons and how they need to face them down.
